Sleep Study Information Guide
What to Expect
This is an overnight study. Discharge will be approximately 6:30 AM the following morning.
One parent/guardian must stay with the patient the entire night.
No other children/ visitors are allowed to stay.
Preparing for the Study
Bathe and shampoo your child prior to the study.
Avoid heavy lotions and skin creams if possible. This will help the electrodes and tape stick to your child’s skin.
Arrive with clean, dry hair. Tightly spaced hair waves, braids or extensions are discouraged because they can make it difficult to place the electrodes on the scalp. Please let us know if you have questions or need clarification.
Limit naps the day of the study. This will help your child have a full night’s sleep.
What to Bring
Sleepwear for you and your child.
Diapers, wipes, bottles and formula etc. if age appropriate.
